Today is a big day at Above Rubies Studio and in honor of the big news from Megan Elizabeth, I created 2 cards showcasing Layerz packs of paper.
This was my first experience with these papers Megan Elizabeth made especially for die cut machines. I used my trusty Cricut Expression and created two cards. As I was planning these cards, I thought …hmmm…theses papers are designed to make it simple so I wanted to create quick and easy cards that you could cut just using 1 sheet of paper from the Layerz pad. I did add a white cardstock base( standard card size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 to fit in a standard invitation size envelope available from the office supply store) for my cards and I used Lovely Floral cartridge. I choose this cartridge because the images, cut the size I need for cards (3″) are often tricky to cut. When you cut intricate designs with some papers at the smaller sizes you want for cards, it can be a challenge to avoid paper tearing etc. Not with LAYERZ! My images cut beautifully! No tearing, so muss, no fuss. My Cricut really loved that paper. The picture in middle shows you what the paper looked like after my cutting. You can see how clean the cuts were! And the colors coordinated perfectly because I used one sheet of paper. Added some ribbon and assemble using the Adhesive Embellishment Combo pack. I did not add a sentiment yet…I added these to my card file and will be able to add the appropriate sentiment when I need a quick card for a friend. So take time to “Enjoy the Moments” and have fun with your Cricuts. Here are my cards! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave me a comment. I will be drawing a winner from all the comments posted here to win a Free Whisperfrom me and the Layerz Pad that I used to create these cards….the real one! I used 2 papers from the pad but will pass the rest on to one lucky winner so you can see how much you will love them too! So leave me a comment telling me how you are planning to “Enjoy the Moments” today! And then visit my friends….
